Ellis Island is known to be the emigration harbor for immigrants who came to the U.S. in a period during 1892 – 1954. It was the first place in the U.S. that hosted them. All the immigrants went through the inspection processes that lasted for 3-7 hours on this island. It was depicted in the Statue of Liberty National Monument (1965).
